Canine Companions

We had special visitors at 11:00 today: Vickie, Matrix, and friends from Canine Companions for Independence. They taught us about the life and skills of an assistance dog and just what it takes to train one. They also demoed some of the dogs commands.















Today's storytime was dog-gone good! Since we were going to have some puppy pals visit, we decided to have a dog theme. The dog in this book is a little bit scary, but little chick saves the day! [Tippy-Toe Chick, GO! by George Shannon and illustrated by Laura Dronzek.
We listened to a feltboard version of Dog's Colorful Day by Emma Dodd.

We learned about colors and got to do some counting--all the way to 10--in that story!
What better way to wrap things up, than to make our own colorful dogs.


Whew! What a Month!


We just realized that we haven't posted in a month! Things have been busy here at the branch with holiday programs and winter break. We're finally getting back into the groove with our regularly scheduled storytimes.

Last week, we read about pigs in preschool storytime. Our digital camera decided to be evil and delete most of our pictures. This is the lone survivor. Of course, the letter of the day was "P."
