STORY TIME FOR YOUNG CHILDREN

The Little Red Hen... by Byron Barton ...
  A little red hen (with her three baby chicks) is making bread.  But her friends the pig, the duck, and the cat won't help... until the work is done! This is one of the so many stories read to our children during Stories for Young Children held every Wednesday at 11:00 am.

Stories for Young Children is for children birth to 5 years with an adult caregiver.  The program includes stories, books, finger plays, nursery rhymes, and songs that promote languague development, vocabulary building, and comprehension.

SCIENCE SATURDAY.........BLAST!




Just rocket science! Yes, Saturday was our first Science Saturday!!! for this summer and we did it by launching rockets....Miss Chelsea provided some interesting information about rockets, structure and how they work and put it to the test. Our young ones got to launch their own "rockets" made out of plastic water bottles, water, vinegar, baking soda and lots of fun....

SUCCESS ... SUCCESS... SUCCESS...

Yesssssss, We did it Again...! Our Summer Reading Program Kick~Off Activity was a complete Success. 
 It was amazing to see the 100+ patrons that joined us to celebrate our Summer Reading Program Activity with Mr. Al Poindexter who delited the young ones, tween, teens and parents as well with his interactive musical performance, traditional musical instruments and folk songs... it was a BLAST!

STORY TIME FOR YOUNG CHILDREN

Today during our Story Time we read GOODNIGHT MOON by Margaret Wise Brown... among other moon related books... and we talked about the moon, the stars, the sky, blankets and all things that make our good night sleep better.



After such wonderful stories, we did some singing and more singing, then topped our story time with a beautiful take home craft ...
